Happy Thanksgiving From AAD: A Reflection On Our Blessings

November 25th, 2020

It is officially one of our favorite times of the year! The Fall and Winter seasons bring so much to be happy about – cooler weather, wonderful food, football season, the holidays, and cherished time with family and friends. Thanksgiving holds an especially dear place in our hearts because it’s a time to sit back, reflect on all that we’ve been blessed with, and remember to appreciate it.

This year has been a particularly difficult one for many of us – COVID turned our worlds upside down, and with extended quarantines and so many adjustments to everyday life it’s been a lot more difficult this year to focus on the positives than it has been in years past. Despite the challenges of 2020, however, we’re taking some today to remind ourselves that there is still so much to be grateful for.

We are thankful for our providers and our staff.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, we would not be able to function without this amazing team of people. Not only are they the backbone of our organization, they are some of our closest friends and a huge part of why we wake up and come to work each morning. We’re so proud of their dedication, of their insane knowledge, of their commitment to holding themselves to the highest standards of care, and of the relationships that they have forged with our patients over the years.

This year especially, we’re particularly thankful for our staff’s ability to adjust to change – we have been so impressed by how they rose to the occasion during this pandemic and went above and beyond to ensure that we could safely continue to care for our patients who needed it the most!

We are thankful for our patients.

Over the past 31 years we have worked hard to establish an AAD family, and our patients have become a huge part of that. We are so grateful to each and every one of you for trusting us with your care, for being so amazing, and for making what we do so much more enjoyable. Thank you for your support, which means so much now more than ever! Many businesses were unable to weather the storm of COVID, but thanks to the loyalty of our patients we were able to pull through and continue serving the local community.

We are thankful for our families.

Working in healthcare isn’t always easy. Even with incredible coworkers and wonderful patients, the reality is that there are bad days too. The joy that we are able to consistently find in our work, even during the toughest of times, is a testament to the loving support of our families and friends. They are our biggest cheerleaders, our support system on bad days and good days, and they were the ones who encouraged us to pursue the dreams that led us here. We don’t say it enough, but thank you for everything that you do.

When we opened the doors to Academic Alliance in Dermatology over 30 years ago, we never could have dreamt that we would end up where we are today. We have been so blessed with the best patients and providers anyone could ask for, and are so thankful every day for the kindness and support they provide. This Thanksgiving we want you to know just how grateful we are for each and every one of you.
